Journalist accidentally gets hired by ICE

Independent journalist Laura Jedeed applied for a job at an ICE recruitment fair in TX to investigate ICE’s hiring practices and process. What she discovered was disturbing but not surprising based on everything else we know about ICE.

After handing in her resume and sitting for an extremely cursory interview, Jedeed was surprised to receive a tentative job offer and instruction to take a drug test. Nine days after her drug test she logged on to the ICE hiring portal, which listed her as a newly hired officer, even though she had neither had a background check nor had the results of her drug test come in. Jedeed told Democracy Now, “My background check was listed as completed three days in the future from when I was looking at it. They clearly don’t know who they’re hiring.” So, what are they even doing? Just whatever they can to get more gun-toting fools out to hurt our communities.

Anti-ICE demonstrators chase off outnumbered far-right activists at Minneapolis rally

Led by pardoned insurrectionist, antisemite, and islamophobe Jake Lang, ten white supremacists rallied in Minneapolis on Saturday to show their support for ICE’s continuing occupation and rampage in the Twin Cities. Despite online threats of a huge turnout, the fascist agitators were far outnumbered by pro-immigrant, anti-ICE community defenders, who strongly suggested that the fascists leave their city and go back to whatever holes they crawled out of.

Finding no succor from local police, who observed the event from a distance, the unwelcome band held out for an hour in the face of Minnesota Mean and water balloons in freezing temperatures before turning tail and running for their hotel. Later, Lang claimed without evidence that he had been stabbed by a protester.

As we move towards Purim, we recall many such opponents, their murderous plots and treachery. May all such foes be easily vanquished!

ICE Is Using a Terrifying Palantir App to Determine Where to Raid

A Palantir Technologies app called ELITE (Enhanced Leads Identification & Targeting for Enforcement) provides ICE agents with a digital map populated by potential deportation targets. According to a user guide obtained by 404 Media, ELITE is a targeting tool designed to improve capabilities for identifying and prioritizing high-value targets through advanced analytics.

The app allows ICE agents to select individual targets or multiple targets at once. During a sworn deposition earlier this month an officer with ICE’s Fugitive Operations Unit said that agents used the app to find target-rich areas.

ICE detention deaths in Texas: Seeking truth in the wake of the deaths of Victor Manuel Diaz and Geraldo Lunos Campos

CW: Violence (state-violence and discussion of suicide)

Victor Manuel Diaz died at ICE-run Camp East Montana in Texas on January 14. It was the second death at the detention facility in as many weeks, and at least the fourth death of a person in ICE custody in the first four weeks of the year. In 2025 at least 32 people died in ICE custody, which is the highest number in decades.

ICE spokespeople claimed that both Diaz and Geraldo Lunos Campos, who died at the facility on January 3rd, committed suicide. We know ICE lies and the truth must come out.

In Campos’ case, The Guardian quotes an eyewitness who told the Washington Post he saw five guards choking Campos while Campos called out that he couldn’t breathe. According to the Guardian, ICE spokespeople only started alleging that Campos committed suicide after the Washington Post published its report. Now, an autopsy finds that Geraldo Lunos Campos was murdered by guards.

May their memories be a revolution.
